I came to Grace Community Church in 1969 to serve and shepherd a young congregation.  More than five decades later, I’m still there enjoying the profound blessing of the Lord. 

I started with the knowledge and conviction that there was only one reality God promised to bless – His Word.  Scripture is clear that by His Word and the power of the Holy Spirit through faithful believers the Lord will do “exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we can ask or think.”  And what He does will always be for His glory.

For over half a century, I have lived the experience of this promise being fulfilled.  Originally my goal was to be a faithful pastor at Grace, never imagining that the Lord would expand the local church ministry to a global impact.  Over the years the Lord has done exactly that, leading to the following ministries: Grace Advance, Grace Ministries International, Grace to You, The Master’s University, The Master’s Seminary, The Master’s Academy International and The Master’s Fellowship. All these ministries are built on the same doctrinal statement and they are served by leadership educated and trained within our own environment so there is unity of doctrine and conviction.

As the Lord has grown these ministries, many people have come alongside to support their wide-ranging opportunities. I am often directly asked where the most critical financial needs exist. Instead of trying to answer that question each time it’s asked, the Lord has led us to launch the John MacArthur Charitable Trust which will fund this family of ministries based on the most urgent priorities and opportunities. Donors can place their gifts in the care of the Trust board, composed of men from our ministry leadership who are familiar with the current needs and can allocate the money in the most strategic way. It is still possible, of course, to give to one of the ministries, even a special project, directly or through the Trust.  But in general, the Trust exists to provide resources for these ministries under the leadership of the board.

The response to the Trust has been amazing even though we are just officially launching. Faithful friends have already provided generous and crucial funds that are being put to work for the honor of our Lord, His Word and His church now and into the future.  We are confident that there are many more who will want to partner with us.
